SGS offer an independent inspection & testing service to the petrochemical industry. We are an integral part of our clients supply chain our main focus to reduce risk by performing quality analysis on a variety of petrochemicals at various stages of operation throughout the movement, storage & distribution chain. SGS can also act as a first line response for any quality related concerns with suspected petrochemical contamination issues. We provide 24/7, 365 day operational support.
Much of the petrochemical testing carried out on in the UK is required to ensure compliance with client specific & international specifications. The data derived from the test methods is often used to determine key properties which have significant detrimental effects further down the supply chain and client processes. Examples being; poisoning of catalysts, corrosion of pipe work (sulphur and mercury) & meeting regulatory emissions targets (NOX & SOX).
Where ever possible SGS aims to follow existing published methods such as ASTM, & IP to ISO international standards. Some of the petrochemicals & test methods include but are not limited to, the following:
LPG (Propane, Butane) & Chemical Gasses, Butenes, VCM, 1,3-Butadiene
