IQA Distance Learning

SGS in its endeavours to increase the quality and standard of our Quality Management Systems training has formed an association with Quality Management and Training Limited (QM&T).  We are now able to offer through QM&T the internationally recognised Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA) Certificate and Diploma courses for Quality Professionals.

Who are QM&T?     
QM&T, established in 1984, is a nationally and internationally renowned training company and is also a provider of ‘quality’ products and an extensive range of services. Their quality assurance experiences are broad and varied, ranging from Quality Management Systems such as ISO9001, ISO/TS 16949 and AS9100, through developing books, distance learning and software, to major quality improvement initiatives. QM&T works in collaboration with the University of Central England, is a member of the British Quality Foundation and an authorised Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) Education Centre.

Chartered Quality Institute qualifications     
Chartered Quality Institue (CQI) Certificate and Diploma are the internationally recognised standard qualifications for ‘Quality Professionals’. The Diploma meets the academic criteria for membership of the IQA (MIQA).  The Certificate (NVQ Level 3) and the Diploma (Degree level) are CQI qualifications, which have been accredited by the Qualifications Curriculum Authority (QCA), supporting the Government Department for Education & Skills (DfES).

The IQA Programmes:
QM&T offer two IQA programmes:

• CQI  Certificate in Quality Assurance - (NVQ Level 3)
  (quick code IQA/C1,C2,C3)
  This is an ideal entry point for those who are new to the quality field, which provides the opportunity for an introductory level qualification.
  It consists of three modules: C1 - Quality: Customer, clients and markets, C2 - Quality: Principles of data analysis, C3 - Quality: Models, standards and laws.
  There is an examination and assignment to be completed.
• CQI Diploma in Quality Management - Degree level (NVQ Level 4/5) (quick code IQA/D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6, D7),
  This diploma is for quality professionals.
  It consists of six modules: D1 - Introduction to Quality, D2 - Principles & Practice, D3 - Tools & Techniques, D4 - Communications & Project Management, D5 - Quality Project, D6 - Quality and Environmental Management or D7 - Information Technology & Quality Management.  For each module there is an examination and assignment to be completed.

Entry Requirements:
There are no specific entry requirements other than for the Diploma, which are  basic qualifications in Maths and English (i.e. GCSE or ‘O’ Level).

CQI Distance Learning Package Content:
Each of these packages is a stand-alone private tuition package that allows the delegate to work at their own pace through the preset training material. There is the option of one day revision workshops for further training guidance (if required).

• A comprehensive set of tutorial notes
• Work books including:
  • A course book (about the programme, study guidelines, self- assessment exercises and quizzes, assignment, past papers and solutions, how to successfully take IQA examinations, and much more). Assignment to be submitted for marking  
  • Typical examination questions with solutions
• The appropriate associated course textbook, specifically compiled and created to support and reflect the IQA syllabus
• One year’s professional tutorial support is provided by telephone, fax, e-mail or written correspondence as required. The tutor will be specially selected from QM&T’s team for the extensive knowledge and experience with the specific CQI  course.

For the company

• Delegates have to complete a number of assignments associated with the course. Often these assignments take the form of work based projects, which with no exaggeration have resulted in delegates achieving hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of quality improvements and productivity savings for their company.
