E-Learning- Understanding compliance to the ETI Basecode
Understanding compliance and Principles of Implementation in relation to the ETI (Ethical Trade Initiative) code
An insight in to the code and its interpretation
The ETI has developed a code of labour practice - the 'Base Code' - reflecting the most relevant international standards with respect to labour practices. The Base Code is accompanied by a set of general principles concerning implementation. The course will focus on the factors which influence the development of best practice and give indicators where companies might want to look to improve. In addition, the course describes the evaluation process before, during and after an auditors visit.
ETI member companies are expected to adopt the Base Code, or to adopt their own code so long as it incorporates the Base Code. This E-Learning course aims to provide you with a measure of understanding and guidance and how to implement the code into your business operation.
In addition, this course briefly looks at the role of SEDEX – the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange Ltd – Sedex is a secure, web-based system for companies to input data on labour standards at their production sites. As a result, companies are better able to drive and demonstrate improvements.
This SGS E Learning session is intended to provide general guidance only. It does not purport to be comprehensive or to give legal advice. Users should always seek specific legal advice before taking or refraining from any action.
