Aims This course aims to provide participants with an understanding of the concepts of “the process approach” as set out in the ISO 9000:2000 family of standards and to encourage the development of a system of managed processes which deliver real business benefits. An understanding of how processes are defined, controlled and managed is essential if this approach is to be successful. By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
explain the purpose and concepts of ‘the process approach’
understand how quality policies, objectives, procedures and processes contribute towards an integrated quality management system
have confidence in their ability to specify processes, identify the relevant ‘inputs’, ‘outputs’, controls and resources and apply appropriate ‘measures’ for their management control
understand how other quality tools may be used to improve and ‘add value’ to the management of processes
devise the implementation of a process-based management system
Profile This course comprises lectures and workshop exercises. Participants are not expected to possess knowledge of quality management systems or ISO 9001:2000 before attending the course.
