TRAINING SERVICES


SGS offers public and customized training programmes / services, delivered by qualified trainers who are experienced in social accountability. Training is available in a number of regions and is delivered in both English and a range of local languages.

Our training courses are used by individuals and organisations all around the world and are approved by many retailers and brands who accept 2nd party audits from approved suppliers. We have:

Public Courses:

  • Introduction to Social Accountability
    – 1 Day Foundation Course
  • Internal Social Systems Auditor  
    – 2 Day (IRCA accreditation pending)
  • Social Systems Lead Auditor
    – 5 Day IRCA Accredited

These can also be delivered as in-house training which can then be tailored to a company’s own programme.

Tailored Training:

  • Senior Management Mentoring - delivered over a number of sessions; takes senior management through concepts and drivers, and works with them to develop their own CSR policy and programme
  • Buyers Briefings – half-day sessions to introduce concepts and issues, and look at how buying behaviour impacts social compliance; Explains audit reports and non-compliances to equip them to discuss actions and review progress
  • Supplier Briefings – explaining the expectations of the company, requirements of the code selected and introduction to self-help approaches and the audit process

E-learning Programmes:
SGS provides tailored e-learning packages to meet retailer and brand needs.  These range from short induction packages for internal staff to training on full brand requirements for all parties in the process.
