DATA MANAGEMENT

SGS prides itself on its ability to provide data management services to clients in a flexible, timely and secure manner.

A key part of this is our global, secure database, SGS OnSite, which allows clients by entering a valid username and password to view the status of interventions and to access their reports in a secure, Internet accessible, environment. Elements of data mining and database management are also possible through the tools provided within this site.

Security is underpinned through the following specific features:

• Passwords set to expire after a period agreed between SGS and the customer.
• Access controlled by the database administrator and the built-in security of our systems is used to limit the access to read-only except for those SGS users authorised to update audit reports.
• To prevent internet "line tapping", data passing between the internet server and the user's browser is encrypted using appropriate technology for the countries of operation.
• Tailored databases can also be provided to manage larger programs.  We are happy to arrange demonstrations of the available options.
